Commission on Aging
The Commission on Aging is the policymaking body that oversees the Milwaukee County Department on Aging. Commissioners are appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the County Board. Commissioners are selected based on their proven interest and dedication to aging issues. They represent a diverse segment of the population with respect to age, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status and residence within the County.

ADRC Governing Board
The Aging and Disability Resource Center Governing Board serves as the lead Board in Milwaukee County responsible for specific duties related to the policies, operations, and services provided by the ADRC. Their role is to serve as an advocate for older adults, adults with physical, intellectual, or mental health dispairities and their caregivers; to provide strategic direction to ensure fidelity to the ADRC mission; to represent and promote the ADRC and the services it provides to the community at large.

Milwaukee County Department on Aging staff are regularly in the community providing education and outreach. This includes educational presentations to community groups, resource tables at major community events, and human services workers who visit senior centers and senior dining sites on a regular basis.
Some of the major community events we participate in throughout the year include:

- Senior Day at Summerfest
- Senior Celebration at the Zoo
- Health and resource fairs at each of the Senior Centers
