Medicare Enrollment Periods
- Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) = 7 months
- When you turn 65, you have 7 months to enroll in Medicare
- 3 months before you turn 65
- the month you turn 65
- 3 months after you turn 65
- When you turn 65, you have 7 months to enroll in Medicare
- Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) 10/10 - 12/7
- You can make changes to your coverage
- Open Enrollment Period (OEP) 1/1 - 3/31
- Those with Medicare Advantage can switch plans or return to original Medicare
- Special Qualifying Event (SEP) Qualifying Event
- Medicare offers Special Enrollment Periods for qualifying life events, such as moving, marriage, divorce, etc.
