County Board Rejects Contracts With Unison

Man Jumps to his Death From High Rise Bridge

Dec-11-2018

At about 10:25 a.m., deputies responded to calls regarding a pedestrian outside of his car looking over the ledge on the High Rise Bridge on I-43 northbound near National Avenue. Before they arrived, dispatchers reported that video footage showed that the subject had jumped over the concrete barrier 110 feet to the ground below. Deputies attempted life-saving measures until Milwaukee Fire Department emergency personnel arrived. The man was pronounced dead at 10:50 a.m. Sheriff’s detectives are conducting the death investigation.

Sheriff's Deputies, Local Police Officers Volunteer for 12th Annual "Shop With A Cop"

On Saturday, Dec. 8, 75 children will shop for holiday gifts with Sheriff’s deputies and police from Milwaukee County police departments for a day filled with the holiday spirit and giving. Correctional officers, civilian staff, and community organizations are also volunteering for the event. The program builds positive relationships among law enforcement officers and young people in the community.

Deputies Arrest Underage Drunken Driver After Pursuit

On Nov. 27, just after midnight during a speed saturation on I-43 northbound near W. Walnut Street, a deputy locked on a speeding vehicle going 71 mph in a 50 mph zone. The vehicle exited at W. Capitol Drive, where it struck a curb damaging the front tire and axle. Marissa Lucero, age 18, of Milwaukee, was arrested for OWI-2nd offense.
