It's important that everyone take steps to reduce the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Find out more about COVID-19 and our ongoing response.

Due to concerns regarding the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and in consideration of recommendations made by federal, state and local authorities, we are suspending our Recreation programming to ensure the health of our participants and staff.

Milwaukee County sponsors recreational activities designed for people with disabilities at two facilities located in county parks in South Milwaukee and Wauwatosa called the Wil-O-Way Recreation Centers. Recreation programs are offered during the spring, summer and fall seasons. Programming is available to individuals with disabilities ages 16 and up through the Wil-O-Way Recreation Center. Activities are planned for weekdays and weekends, afternoons and evenings, and include exciting offerings such as bowling, ceramics, cooking classes, community outings and Friday night dances!

Due to concerns regarding the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and in consideration of recommendations made by federal, state and local authorities, we are canceling Summer Respite Camps to ensure the health of our participants and staff.

Camp Wil-O-Way is sponsored by Milwaukee County and coordinated and staffed by Easterseals Southeast Wisconsin. The summer day camp program operates at Wil-O-Way Grant and Wil-O-Way Underwood.

Wil-O-Way Summer Day Camp Program provides campers with opportunities for social interaction, self-expression and entertainment. The Easterseals Southeast Wisconsin staff organizes activities of arts and crafts, games, music, nature, sports, and special events. This program helps campers maintain basic motor skills, increases recreation skills, encourages maximum use of unstructured time and increases capacities for self-expression.

Wil-O-Way is a place that welcomes campers who may not have other opportunities to participate in a summer camp experience. The staff strives to adjust the program and process to accommodate each camper's needs. When applying it is very important that the Behavioral and Care Information Sections are answered as accurately and honestly as possible. We look for ways to include rather than exclude and accurate information will help us serve all campers.

Important Note: This camp is not to be considered as a behavior treatment program.

The Milwaukee County Office for Persons with Disabilities presents Wil-O-Way Disc Golf, specifically designed with persons with disabilities in mind. These two, three-hole courses have shorter distances and far less challenging terrain than your traditional disc golf course. These courses are beginner friendly and will help you develop your game. We would like to thank Terry Miller of Lifetime Disc Sports for his inspiration on course design, development of the course and involvement in the community not only with Disc Golf, but also with persons with disabilities as well.

Wil-O-Way Grant Disc Golf Course

207 Lake Dr. South Milwaukee

Image of Disc Golf HoleThe Grant Course is a great place to learn how to play disc golf, practice your approach shots and work on your short game. This course offers a more challenging terrain, and does NOT have an accessible pathway throughout the course. The Grant Course is located within a beautiful Milwaukee County Park and is open to the public, as long as the facility is not reserved for group outings.

  • Tee boxes are grass pads with patio paver markers
  • Course Length is 418’
  • Price: FREE
  • Bring your own discs

Players have a relatively flat surface of play on all three holes, with small challenges along the way. The Underwood Course is also a great place to learn how to play disc golf, practice your approach shots and work on your short game. This course is located within a beautiful Milwaukee County Park and is open to the public, as long as the facility is not reserved for group outings.

Due to concerns regarding the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and in consideration of recommendations made by federal, state and local authorities, we are canceling the Sail Away program this summer to ensure the health of our participants and staff.

The Milwaukee County Office for Persons with Disabilities partners with the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center each year to provide sailing opportunities to indivuals with disabilities and their friends and family members. This is a free opportunity and wouldn't be possible without the countless volunteers and the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center. We are truly grateful to be able to provide this opportunity.

The Rec Room Calendar is a service provided by the Milwaukee County Office for Persons with Disabilities for residents with disabilities as well as those without. Our goal is to encourage all people to participate in any of the multitude of recreational activities throughout our community but we recognize that individuals sometimes prefer to access events that are designed specifically for their needs and/or are located in accessible locations. We accept information from service organizations and groups who provide recreational opportunities and have appropriate staffing, venues and equipment to accommodate people with disabilities. This Rec Room Calendar is provided by Milwaukee County as a service and for informational purposes only.
