What is Comprehensive Community Services (CCS)?

CCS is a Medicaid funded care coordination program designed for individuals who have a mental health and/or substance use disorder. CCS strives to empower and encourage individuals and their supports in the recovery journey with the use of team, person-centered, holistic services to improve quality of life. CCS offers both a traditional and unique array of psychosocial rehabilitative services.

Psychosocial rehabilitation focuses on building the skills needed to live a successful, independent life while managing a mental health and/or substance use condition.  Within CCS, youth/young adults may be eligible for specialty teams.

All services provided must be medically necessary to support an individual’s mental health and/or substance use disorder. CCS is not a traditional case management program, where things are done for an individual, but rather focuses on teaching an individual how to achieve independence in their identified needs.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

A young woman who disengaged from high school during the pandemic rebuilt her self-esteem through yoga and meditation. She enrolled in a credit recovery program, graduated within one semester, began college, and now lives independently while pursuing her chosen career path.
