No Wrong Door
AlertMilwaukee County DHHS is committed to ensuring that every person who was served by SDC and reaches out to DHHS will be connected to services, resources and/or programs.
Simply put, “No Wrong Door” means that regardless of how an individual connects to the Milwaukee County Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) and the health and human services system of care, they will have access to all services and resources offered by DHHS, and countless community partners. A part of DHHS’ strategic plan since 2020, “No Wrong Door” aims to improve the experience of connecting with DHHS for the entire community while more efficiently connecting our residents with the programs or services they need.
By implementing the “No Wrong Door” approach, we are:
- Getting to “yes” on addressing somebody’s needs regardless of how they get connected
- Improving the customer experience of engaging with DHHS
- Meeting a community member’s needs from birth until end of life across the continuum of care
- Better addressing the root causes of somebody’s needs
- Furthering the County’s equity goals by meeting people where they are
A new approach helped an unhoused Milwaukee man find healthcare and a home. Here's how.
