DHHS New Employee Orientation, HealthStream and DEI
Under the direction of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Workforce Training and Development designs, delivers and/or facilitate various types of trainings (e.g., onboarding, regulatory, certification, skill-based, mindset and practice, internships) for DHHS employees, contracted employees, students/interns and community-based providers.
This 4-day in-person event, hosted by Medical College of Wisconsin, will bring together those who provide care and support for individuals at risk of suicide. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive and share information about evidence-based suicide prevention practices. Space is limited, so be sure to register before classes are filled!

DHHS New Employee Orientation (NEO) occurs every other Monday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and is held at the Marcia P. Coggs Building. Attendance is mandatory for all DHHS staff. Since NEO is dedicated to a full day, we will watch the countywide virtual orientation together as a group. Then we will continue the day with DHHS presentations that cover an array of topics that are vital to new employees:

HealthStream is the learning tool that will facilitate a blended learning model allowing for: Pre-Assignments (pretests, readings, videos, etc.); Post-Assignments (surveys, links to read the policy and sign off, post-assessments, etc.); and Assignments in between trainings (videos, readings, etc.). HealthStream will manage and track: Online trainings, virtual live trainings and in-person trainings.

HealthStream is a learning tool that will be used for all DHHS specific trainings, policies, and procedures. Dayforce LMS will continue to be used for all County-wide mandatory trainings. HealthStream will not replace Dayforce LMS or duplicate its content. These are two separate training tools with unique trainings in each. You will be responsible for completing training in HealthStream and Dayforce LMS.

Please note that all new DHHS Training Requests must be submitted through WTD. The WTD Steering Committee will work with the Milwaukee County HR Learning & Development Team (L&D) to determine if this will be handled within DHHS or with the assistance of L&D. Review Workforce Training & Development's Course Catalog and L&D's Course Catalog prior to submitting a new request.
