Department of Administrative Services – Information Management Services Division

Act as a premier broker of high quality, innovative and transformative IT solutions that enable user agencies to serve their constituents in a responsive and cost-effective manner.

Our Teams and Responsibilities


 

Service Desk and Desktop Services

Enhances customer service and end-user uptime through the use of technology standards, IT service management best practices and Information Technology Infrastructure Library governance procedures including but not limited to incident, service, change and problem management. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide a central point of contact (service desk) for computer users

  • Handle service incidents and requests

  • Manage computer replacements and additions

  • Manage software licenses and distribution

  • Administer mobile technology

Infrastructure Services

Provides research, acquisition, installation, maintenance and support services for countywide telecommunications and data network infrastructure, as well as server, storage, backup and Office 365 environments. Responsibilities include:

  • Administration of voice and data communications systems

  • Control and oversight of architecture, design, planning, configuration and provisioning of wide-area and local-area networks

  • Provision and maintenance of WiFi and internet services

  • Provision of voice, video and conferencing services

  • Maintenance and support of server and storage infrastructure

  • Oversight of backup and disaster recovery programs

  • Management and responsibility of Office 365 cloud environment for email, Microsoft Office products, SharePoint and OneDrive for Business

Administrative and Project Management Office

Includes the Business Solutions Team, the Project Management Office and the Governance & Strategy Team.

The Business Solutions Team and Project Management Office provide business development and project and portfolio management, including working directly with Departments and outside agencies to:

  • Align technology solutions to departmental strategies to develop an enterprise roadmap

  • Drive value within client Departments and empower them to improve business operations

  • Manage IT projects to successful completion through a value-driven portfolio framework

The Governance & Strategy Team provides oversight of administrative and strategic functions including:

  • IT contract management

  • Enterprise IT governance

  • Employee development, engagement, standards and metrics

  • IT quality assurance

Cyber Security

Provides security awareness, policies and procedures, access controls and network security and monitoring for the County. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and deliver security awareness training

  • Administer email campaigns

  • Conduct periodic knowledge testing (phishing expeditions)

  • Develop and periodically review security policies, procedures and standards

  • Identify and periodically review critical applications

  • Manage security incidents

  • Manage and review identity and access management

  • Continuously monitor network and system availability

  • Oversee remote access services, network security and firewall management

  • Mitigate technological risk through securing, monitoring, and auditing technology systems and data

Application Services

Promotes an enterprise strategy for application design, delivery and support that advances countywide IT maturity and ensures overall IT sustainability. Responsibilities include:

  • Provision innovative, cost-conscious software solutions

  • Design, deliver and support custom and vendor-supported application solutions that support departmental needs

  • Develop and deliver robust reporting

  • Administer and support countywide cloud-based and enterprise applications

  • Administer and support county websites

  • Enhance business value and empower departments to better serve their constituents
