The Milwaukee County Land Information Office has been working on moving publicly available data from an on-premise source to ArcGIS Online hosted layers to improve drawing performance, eliminate service downtime and reduce data redundancy. With this effort comes many changes; in early 2025, publicly available data will only be accessible via hosted feature layers, and most on-premise feature services will be retired. For details, please refer to the documentation available for download here. Feature layers listed in this document are ready to use, please update any web maps, mapping applications and data connections accordingly.
Many of our publicly shared layers have been identified as not being owned or maintained by MCLIO. In an effort to provide the most up-to-date and accurate data, MCLIO will no longer provide data layers that have an official authoritative source. A document listing these layers and their alternative sources is available for download here. This documentation also includes datasets that are outdated and no longer updated due to changes in public needs. These may still be available via a file gdb download – but no longer as an online service.
MCLIO will set an official retirement date for the on-premise public layers in January – please watch out for an announcement during this time. Once a retirement date is set, please plan accordingly, as the on-premise services will no longer be available after that.
