Independence Day Celebrations & Fireworks
From parades and flag-raising ceremonies to bike-decorating and patriotic pet-costume contests, local municipalities are planning family-friendly activities at various sites during the day, and many plan fireworks in the evening. Be sure to check the event organizer's website / facebook page for details about the offerings at the location you'd like to visit!

Start your celebration with the kids' parade at 11:30 a.m. along Packard Avenue, followed by the full parade at noon, which continues along Layton Avenue. Then, visit Library Square for food, drink, and live music. Finally, find a spot to set down your blanket at Sheridan Park for the fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

Kletzsch Park, 6650 N. Milwaukee River Parkway
Come to the Parade Extravaganza along the Milwaukee River Parkway at 10 a.m., and return to Kletzsch Park at 4:30 p.m. for the Food Truck Festival, afternoon activities, and the famed Summer Soak. At 5:45 p.m., the Mayor's Welcome kicks off the evening, with live music, and the Grand Fireworks Display. Be sure to bring lawn chairs or blankets!

Gather the family for Wauwatosa's holiday parade! The parade steps off from just east of 92nd & North. The route follows North Avenue until about 80th Street. The parade has a designated "Sensory Zone," from 81st to 80th streets, where light and sound are minimized for those who need a less stimulating environment. Later, enjoy activities and fireworks at other locations.

Celebrate the Fourth! Activities at Hales Corners park and surrounding areas begin with the Firecracker Four four-mile run. Spend the day and enjoy two parades – at 9 a.m., the children's parade, and, at 4 p.m., The Big Parade. Fun includes bed races (nearby), the patriotic pet-costume contest, children's field games, a hot-dog-eating contest, and more!
