Caring For Our Parks

Our mission is to steward a thriving park system that positively impacts every Milwaukee County Park visitor. Here's how we do it…

Open Space Stewards

The Parks Operations Team oversees 16,000 acres of managed and natural areas of park land. You'll see our operations crew throughout the year maintaining the parks through duties such as trash pickup, forestry management, trail maintenance, graffiti removal, snow removal, athletic-field preparation, rentals preparation, and mowing.

Conservation Champions

The Natural Areas Team oversees thousands of acres of open space, including beaches, ephemeral ponds, and prairies. The team monitors native and invasive plants and animals in Milwaukee County.

Innovative Partnerships

The Business Services Team manages operations that help fund park improvement projects. This includes managing and operating our beer gardens, working with partner businesses, and creating hundreds of seasonal jobs at our pools, golf courses and parks.

Active Parks

The Recreation Services Team manages our community centers, organizes sports leagues and athletic field rentals, and operates our indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

Parks Rangers & Safety

Our Ranger team helps keep parks safe for all by patrolling parks and enforcing park ordinances.
