From stunning backdrops for your engagement photos to one-of-a-kind venues for your ceremony, Milwaukee County Parks offers the ideal destination for your day. To reserve our most popular locations outside of a wedding or special event permit for a professional photo shoot, you'll need to get a photography permit.
Scenic Park & Downtown Locations
Milwaukee County Parks offers several stunning locations for ceremonies including the Grand Staircase, the Lion Bridges, the Summer Stage and the Waterfall Ravine. Other popular downtown locations are Juneau Park, Pere Marquette Park, Red Arrow Park, and Zeidler Union Square.
Boerner Botanical Gardens
Boerner Botanical Gardens is ideal for everything from an intimate wedding for 30 guests in the annual garden gazebo to a large ceremony for 200 guests in the shrub mall. The historic Garden House can also be rented for use as a bridal room, or an alternative ceremony site in case of inclement weather.
Brown Deer Boathouse
Brown Deer Park Boathouse sits on a hill overlooking the lagoon in Brown Deer Park. The rustic exterior and wooded setting create the effect of a country house.
Grant Park Golf Clubhouse
This two-story farm home from the late 1800s offers a spacious interior and views of the beautifully wooded Grant Park Golf Course and the spectacular shore of Lake Michigan.
Mitchell Park Domes
For a truly unique wedding, ceremonies for up to 30 people can be held in any Dome at the Mitchell Park Conservatory during regular hours. Private rentals are also available in the Atrium and Greenhouse No. 7 through Zilli Hospitality Group.
Oak & Antler Banquet Hall
Oak & Antler, nestled on the famous Brown Deer Golf Course, blends Tudor Revival architecture with a charming brick & beam interior. In the banquet hall, soaring ceilings and chandeliers pair with a brick fireplace and large picture windows to provide a photogenic setting, inside & out.
South Shore Pavilion
The upper level of South Shore Terrace, with views of Lake Michigan, can be booked for a ceremony and/or reception. The beer garden is also available for private rental.
Wehr Nature Center
Imagine your wedding ceremony tucked in the woods of Whitnall Park. Wehr Nature Center offers intimate sites overlooking Mallard Lake (capacity 20), and the larger amphitheater (capacity 195). The Gardner Room, in the Visitors Center, may also be rented as an alternate site in the event of inclement weather.
Whitnall Park Beer Garden
Whitnall Park Beer Garden is an open-air beer garden in Whitnall Park with 24 craft beers on tap. Rent the garden for a reception or shower, and we’ll provide the beer and service! Catering is available. (No outside alcohol can be brought into the beer gardens.) Groups can also reserve tables during regular business hours.
