Still a manufacturing stronghold, the region features 16 Fortune 1000 companies and thousands of others in the financial services, medical device, hospitality and retailing industries.

Milwaukee County Parks works with hundreds of partners every day. Partners range from small groups of volunteers organizing cleanups in their local park, to large corporations helping to fund the revitalization of parks and waterways. As a partner you, or your business, can support your community, improve your local environment and create jobs.
Sprecher Brewery, of Glendale, partners with Milwaukee County Parks to operate the Traveling Beer Gardens. Beer garden profits go back into the parks. In addition, each year Sprecher donates $30,000 to fund improvements in the parks.
The Hunger Taskforce Farm, in Franklin, uses Milwaukee County Parks-owned land to grow fruits and vegetables to feed people in the community. The farm also raises 40,000 fish annually to stock lakes and lagoons in the parks.
Thousands of people gather at Humboldt Park on Tuesday nights throughout the summer for Chill on the Hill concerts. Volunteers of the Bay View Neighborhood Association produce the series. It helps fund the non-profit group and support local musicians, food vendors and park improvements.
