Dear Neighbor,

I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to serve as your Milwaukee County Supervisor for the 1st District! I am excited to step into this role which I view as a way to contribute meaningfully to our community's well-being.

My commitment to addressing inequities and fostering a safer, more inclusive environment has been a driving force in my journey and will be a central focus during my time as Supervisor. Milwaukee County has made strides in applying a racial equity lens to its operations, and I am dedicated to furthering these efforts to ensure fair and equitable outcomes for all residents.

About Supervisor O'Connor

Anne O’Connor was elected in April 2024 to represent the residents of Milwaukee County's 1st District, which includes Bayside, Fox Point, Glendale, River Hills, Shorewood, and Whitefish Bay. She is a current member of the County Board's Committee on Finance and Vice Chairperson of the Committee on Intergovernmental Relations. Anne earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Masters in art history from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Anne is also a University of Wisconsin-Extension Master Gardener. She has resided in Whitefish Bay since 2007.

Since 2014, Anne has worked as a community engagement specialist with an urban planning firm which helps community organizations and individuals around Milwaukee County with environmental stewardship and stormwater management strategies. Previously, Anne worked in fund development for public radio and higher education.

Anne also co-founded an organization in 2019, Bay Bridge, to try to raise awareness of racism and racial segregation in Whitefish Bay and Milwaukee County. Anne appreciates that Milwaukee County employs a racial equity lens throughout its operations and services, and she will work tirelessly to advance Milwaukee County’s mission of becoming the healthiest county by achieving racial equity.

Anne is passionate about volunteering with food, housing and environmental justice organizations such as The Redress Movement, Fair Future and Cathedral Center. In her spare time Anne enjoys supporting community events, meetings folks as she walks her dog, and riding her bike on the Oak Leaf trail. She also likes to read, garden, do yoga and spend time with her husband and now adult children.
