Community Support Programs
On September 2, 2021, the Milwaukee County ARPA Task Force approved ARPA Expenditure Categories and a process for reviewing and recommending ARPA funding allocations.
The Community Support category allows Milwaukee County to respond to economic harms to workers, families, small businesses, impacted industries and the public sector. Projects advance Milwaukee County strategic objectives:
- 2A: Determine what, where and how services are delivered based on the resolution of health disparities
- 3A: Invest upstream to address the root causes of health disparities
- 3C: Dismantle barriers to achieving diverse and inclusive communities
Strategies will be funded within the following Milwaukee County ARPA Community Support Service Areas:

Community Support Service Area Subgroups
Service area subgroup membership includes a minimum of six members, consisting of at least:
- Two Milwaukee County staff with expertise and experience in the subject matter
- One community member who is directly affected by the service area
- One Community partner/stakeholder who has developed expertise in the subject matter and does not stand to personally benefit from the recommendations, directly or indirectly
