Increasing Food Access
Building collective power, advancing food justice, and organizing toward community-led solutions to food apartheid across Milwaukee County, these efforts remain important opportunities to advance public accountability, community participation, and structural solutions to food apartheid.
Intergovermental Community Food Taskforce
The Intergovernmental Community Food Taskforce was created through legislation authored by Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Marcelia Nicholson-Bovell, adopted by the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors, and signed by County Executive David Crowley. It will bring together community leaders, advocates, and food-system partners to identify barriers to food access, meaningfully guide policy, and develop coordinated, long-term solutions that strengthen food access across Milwaukee. The Milwaukee County Office of Equity represents the County on the taskforce.
