
Milwaukee County Storm Recovery Resources
From April 13, 2026 until April 23, 2026, Wisconsin was hit with extreme storms, tornados, and flooding that caused damage to the community. On May 22, 2026, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers requested a disaster declaration from President Trump, including a request for Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Individual Assistance for affected residents and families in 19 counties and one Tribal Nation.
On June 30, 2026, the President approved the Major Disaster Declaration for the State of Wisconsin. Milwaukee County was approved to receive Individual Assistance for residents affected by the storms in April.
FEMA Individual Assistance
Residents who sustained losses and damage to their homes during the storms that occured April 13-26, 2026, are now able to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance online at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. The deadline to apply is August 31, 2026.
