Take a Child to Work Day
Event Information
This year’s event took place on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Boerner Botanical Gardens from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The theme of the event was “Building a Strong Future.”
The program included opening remarks by County Executive Crowley and Youth Commissioners, interactive stations led by Milwaukee County departments with Young Changemaker Passports participants used to track the stations they visited, and an opportunity to tour and learn about the vehicles that that Milwaukee County utilizes to maintain its public infrastructure and provide its many critical services.
This event is sponsored annually by the Milwaukee County Youth Commission and the Department of Human Resources.
Background on the Milwaukee County Youth Commission
In 2022, County Executive Crowley and Chairwoman Marcelia Nicholson, along with Supervisor Sequanna Taylor, co-authored a resolution to re-establish the Milwaukee County Youth Commission to provide young people in Milwaukee County with a unique experience in community service, civic engagement, and policy and budget decision-making. Take A Child to Work Day is a required event for Youth Commission programming.
