Dear Neighbors,
My name is Nasigh Stevenson, and I am honored to serve on the Milwaukee County Youth Commission representing District 2. I chose to serve because I believe young people should not simply be the future of our community, but, rather, we should have a voice in shaping its present. Too often, decisions that directly affect young people are made without us at the table. I joined the Youth Commission to help change that by listening to my peers, elevating their ideas and concerns, and ensuring that the perspectives of young people are represented in the conversations that shape Milwaukee County.
Serving on the Youth Commission provides me with a meaningful opportunity to grow as a leader, deepen my understanding of local government, and work alongside other young people who are committed to creating positive change. My favorite part of this experience is bringing together different perspectives and turning the voices of young people into meaningful dialogue, advocacy, and action. I am especially grateful for the opportunity to see my community from new perspectives while learning how civic engagement can create lasting impact.

Biography
Nasigh Stevenson serves on the Milwaukee County Youth Commission’s Committee on Governance, Finance, & Evaluation. Nasigh is a junior at Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy, where he has been actively involved in Student Government Association leadership, serving as a 10th Grade Representative, Speaker of the House, Acting President, and President. Through these leadership roles, Nasigh has advocated for student voices and worked to create meaningful opportunities and positive changes within the school community. Nasigh is passionate about youth advocacy, civic engagement, leadership, and public service, and is committed to ensuring that young people have a meaningful voice in the decisions that affect them.
