Swans, a free choreographed performance on the Veterans Park Lagoon, uses swan paddle boats as the stage. Six boats, with dancers and saxophonists, move in formations drawn from the flight and swimming patterns of swans. Dancers wave wing sculptures, while saxophonists play music inspired by the calls of trumpeter swans and the unique acoustics of sound across water. The gliding processional can be viewed from any point around the lagoon. The performance was created by composer Lia Kohl and visual artist Jess Bass.
