Two Summer Camping Opportunities!

Sign Up for Wil-O-Way Summer Camp & Extended Camp HERE!

Camp Wil-O-Way

Camp Wil-O-Way is sponsored by Milwaukee County and coordinated and staffed by Easter Seals Southeast Wisconsin, Inc. The summer day camp program operates at two locations on Milwaukee's west and southeast side. Each site accommodates up to 65 campers per session and the age range is 7 through 60.

Wil-O-Way Summer Day Camp Program provides campers with opportunities for social interaction, self-expression and entertainment. The Easter Seals Southeast Wisconsin staff organizes activities of arts and crafts, games, music nature, sports and field trips. This program helps campers maintain basic motor skills, increases recreation skills, encourages maximum use of unstructured time and increases capacities for self-expression.

Wil-O-Way is a place that welcomes campers who may not have other opportunities to participate in a summer camp experience. The staff strives to adjust the program and process to accommodate each camper's needs. When applying it is very important that the Behavioral and Care Information Sections are answered as accurately and honestly as possible. We look for ways to include rather than exclude and accurate information will help us serve all campers.

Important Note: This camp is not to be considered as a behavior treatment program.

SCREENING

As stated above, Wil-O-Way is a place that welcomes campers who may not have other opportunities to participate in a summer camp experience. The staff will make every effort to adjust the program and process to accommodate each camper's needs. Each camper is assessed after his or her FIRST day of camp and throughout the summer. If it is found that the camper cannot be effectively served due to behavior or other factors affecting his/her participation, the parent/guardians and/or agency representatives will be contacted and camp refunds will be made on a pro-rated basis.

The actual cost of operating the Wil O Way Summer Day Camp is $1,260 per camper for the six weeks session. Milwaukee County Office for Persons with Disabilities and Milwaukee County Disability Service Division have been diligent in their efforts to keep fees as reasonable as they can. The fee covers the cost of bus transportation, field trips, crafts, a backpack, and a t-shirt for each camper. Wil-O-Way Grant Extended Camp Option

In order to give our campers a longer camp experience, we will be offering an extended 2 weeks of camp at our Wil-O-Way Grant location in South Milwaukee.  Campers from both the Grant and Underwood sites are welcome to take advantage of this option.  In order for us to arrange staffing and transportation, campers choosing to take advantage of this option must determine this option when signing up for their regular session of camp at either site.  The same application deadline applies.  We will require a minimum of 20 campers taking advantage of this option in order to proceed.  If we do not meet enrollment, you will be notified by 5 business days after the application deadline.

DATES AND HOURS

August 4 - August 15

9:45 am - 2:45 am

TRANSPORTATION

(for Milwaukee County residents only)
Easter Seals will arrange for daily round trip bus service for those that need bus transportation.  If you attend
Underwood during the regular camp session, transportation will be arranged for you to get to Grant for this extended
period.  Pick up and drop off times will likely be different during these two weeks of camp.  Non resident camper
transportation is not provided.

FEE
The subsidized cost of the typical camp sessions, as described previously, is $475 for 6 weeks because of funding
provided by the Milwaukee County Office for Persons with Disabilities.  The funding provided does not cover
the costs of this extended session of camp.  As a result, the cost of this option reflects the actual operating costs
necessary for Easter Seals Southeast Wisconsin to provide staffing and transportation for each camper.  There is
no additional registration fee.

Grant Extended Camp Cost - $440
