Lieutenant Thomas Beal
Lieutenant Beal was appointed to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office in April 1997. In 2014, he was promoted within the SWAT team as Team Leader for the Crisis Negations Team. Lieutenant Beal was promoted to Lieutenant in 2017.
Lieutenant Beal's current assignment is in Internal Affairs.
Lieutenant Tricia Carlson
Lieutenant Carlson was appointed to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office in April 1997, promoted to Sergeant in February 2008 and to Lieutenant in February 2011. She served as the Administrative Lieutenant at the Patrol Division. Lieutenant Carlson completed the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy in 2017.
Lieutenant Carlson currently serves as the Lieutenant in the Criminal Investigations Division.
Lieutenant Mitch Gottschalk
Lieutenant Gottschalk joined the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office in April 2001. He was promoted to Lieutenant in April 2016.
Lieutenant Gottschalk has had specialized training in Interview and Interrogation, Force Science, Crisis Intervention and Intercultural Skills & Leadership. Lieutenant Gottschalk holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and sociology from the UW-Milwaukee.
He is currently assigned to the Patrol Services-Airport Division.
Lieutenant Kevin Johnson
Lieutenant Johnson began his career as a Correctional Officer at the House of Correction in August 1994. He was appointed as a Deputy Sheriff with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office in April 1996 and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in October 2016.
He is a Representative of the Foundations of Professional Policing Advisory Committee. Lieutenant Johnson served on active duty in the United States Navy as a Plane Captain on anti-submarine helicopters. Currently Lieutenant Johnson is assigned to the Training Academy.
Lieutenant Brad Lessila
Lieutenant Lessila was appointed to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff on July 15, 1996. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2017 and is currently assigned to command the Patrol Division.
Lieutenant James Novotny
Lieutenant Novotny was appointed to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff on June 10, 1994. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in March of 2000 and to the rank of Lieutenant in October of 2017.
Lt. Novotny is a 2005 graduate of the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command, and served as 2016 and 2018 guest lecturer at the National Criminal Justice Training Center Courts Safety and Security Conference.
Lieutenant Novotny is currently assigned to Internal Affairs Division.
Lieutenant Mary Sawczuk
Lieutenant Sawczuk was appointed as a Deputy Sheriff with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office in January 1995 and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in September 2017. Lieutenant Sawczuk has been assigned to the Criminal Investigations, Courts Services and Patrol Services.
Lieutenant Sawczuk is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.
Lieutenant Tobie Weberg
Lieutenant Weberg was appointed to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office in November of 1992. He was promoted to the rank of Detective in August of 2001 and assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division. In February of 2005, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and Captain in December of 2007. In December of 2017, he received the rank of Lieutenant.
Lieutenant Weberg has attended numerous law enforcement training programs and schools and has completed course work at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. He is a graduate of Marquette University's Future Milwaukee Leadership Program (Class of 2007). He currently serves on the Executive Board for the Association of SWAT Personnel - Wisconsin.
Lieutenant Eric Worden
Lieutenant Worden began his career with Milwaukee County as a Correctional Officer at the Milwaukee County House of Correction in 1992. He was appointed to the Sheriff’s Office in 1995 as a Deputy Sheriff and appointed to the rank of Detective in 2004. In 2015, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and Lieutenant in 2016.
Lieutenant Worden is presently assigned to the Internal Affairs Division.
