Winter Wonders Begins Nov. 29

A new 1.4-mile drive-through holiday light show featuring more than 80 displays, set in the area surrounding the Boerner Botanical Gardens, Whitnall Park and the Root River Parkway. The show runs daily from 5 to 10 p.m.Get tickets.

Boerner Botanical Wins National Display Garden Award

Nov. 7, 2019

Boerner's trail garden won first place in the the All-American Selections Design Competition. The contest challenges gardens to create a themed display using AAS Winning plants. Boerner's winning theme was an Alice In Wonderland inspired design. Read More.

Hold Onto Your Butt Campaign Launches at Bradford Beach

Oct. 15, 2019

Milwaukee County Parks has teamed up with the City of Milwaukee Tobacco-Free Alliance and other local organizations for a new campaign to reduce cigarette butt litter in our parks and beaches. The effort includes the installation of cigarette butt receptacles at local beaches.

Columbus Park Renamed 'Indigenous Peoples' Park'

Oct. 14, 2019

At a ceremony on Oct. 14, Indigenous Peoples Day, the Milwaukee park previously known as Columbus Park, was renamed to Indigenous Peoples' Park. 


Parks & Packers Team Up for Playground Renovation

Oct. 2, 2019

Green Bay Packers players, along with parks staff and volunteers, helped construct a new playground at Center Street Park on Oct. 1. The new playground is expected to be complete and open by the end of October.

The Domes Holiday Garden Show

Nov. 23 - Jan. 5

This holiday season, The Domes will be decked with classic lights, ornaments and decorations. The show is included with regular admission.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Nov. 26, King Community Center

The King Center's annual turkey feast is aiming to feed over 1000 people this year. Donations of turkeys and funds are being accepted by the King Advisory Group to help feed the hungry.
