County departments have held five job fairs since the launch of the “Changemakers” campaign in February
MILWAUKEE, WI – During the State of the County Address in February, County Executive David Crowley announced the “Changemakers” marketing campaign for making Milwaukee County an employer of choice. Since then, the County has aggressively sought top tier talent passionate about making change in their communities through both virtual and in-person hiring events. In the last two months, Milwaukee County departments have held five hiring events, including an all-department hiring event earlier this week at the Mitchell Park Domes.
“I’m proud of the changemakers who work here, and I know there is a wealth of talent in our region that we can use at Milwaukee County to help serve residents and make the change we all want to see in our communities,” said County Executive David Crowley. “I’m thrilled to see over 500 residents apply to become changemakers at Milwaukee County, but I know that there are more people out there passionate about helping others who have yet to join our team. People passionate about making change are a precious resource for us. To heal our community, and meet the needs of our residents, we need top tier talent working at Milwaukee County. I look forward to more hiring events in the months ahead and recruiting even more changemakers to join our team.”
Beginning in March, the Milwaukee County Zoo held a two-day hiring event for open seasonal positions and received 152 applications for positions. In April, the Parks Department received 172 applicants at their in-person hiring event. In early May, the House of Correction held a hiring event that generated 60 applications to join the department. And, this week, a county-wide hiring event held at the Mitchell Park Domes inspired 118 candidates to apply to be changemakers.
