Dr. John Schneider to share decades of medical and behavioral health experience with students through faculty appointment

February 21, 2018 - The Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division announced the appointment of its Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Schneider to the full-time faculty at The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) in the department of psychiatry and behavioral medicine department as an assistant professor for students in the clinician administrator path. His appointment begins this semester and will extend through June 30, 2020.

December 28, 2017 – Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele today announced Bob Curry as the newest member of the Milwaukee County Mental Health Board (MCMHB). Curry is the president and founder of DryHootch, a veterans peer-to-peer counseling center for those impacted by war trauma with locations across the midwest.

Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division receives $2.6 million to help families affected by the opioid epidemic

November 27, 2017 - The Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division (BHD) will take a big step forward in the fight against opioid abuse thanks to two grants, totaling more than $2.6 million from the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ State Targeted Response (STR) initiative.
