The Aging Resource Center and Area Agency on Aging administer a variety of programs that contribute to health and quality of life for elders. All are organized under the name WellnessWorks Community Collaborations.
The mission of WellnessWorks is to improve quality of life for seniors by reducing risk for chronic illness, disability and institutionalization and to broaden the role of the MCDA resource center by reaching out with information and assistance focused on interventions to prevent age related disability that will help people as they age and before they find themselves in crisis.
The goals of WellnessWorks community collaborations are as follows:
Enhance the quality of health and prevention programming for Milwaukee County Seniors.
Provide service learning opportunities for students enrolled in health sciences, social service and other programs who are interested in working with adults over the age of 50 years.
Contribute to the body of knowledge in older adult health and the prevention of disability.
