What will the different Avatar and Provider Connect trainings cover, and which should I attend?
BHD-CARS has begun scheduling training sessions for Avatar and Provider Connect end users prior to "Go Live" on
September 1 October 1. Scheduling communications are directed to the designated "Super Users" at each partner organization, and the following descriptions should help users choose the appropriate training module.
Avatar for Access Points and Care Management
A series of trainings are scheduled here for providers who will the need to utilize Avatar within the roles that are performed for BHD. The trainings will be a combination of BHD-CARS policies and procedures that are to be supported by Avatar and/or Provider Connect and the impact and change from current functions utilized within CMHC. These trainings are led by CARS Subject Matter Experts (Service Managers) and consultants from The Joxel Group.
- Access Point – This training is intended for our current CIUs, BHD Access Clinic, and CARS care coordinators. The session will include training on utilizing the new CARS Assessment which is part of our placement decision making process. Will also cover provider selection and service authorization issuance.
- Care Management – This training will cover Individual recovery plans (IRP), PPS entry, coordinating provider functions, service entry and case notation. There will be CARS service management supplements to address the unique needs and requirements related to CSP, CCS care coordination, CRS coordination, TCM and AODA CM/RSC. Provider Connect is utilized within Care Management for service entry and case notation.
Provider Connect training will be accomplished through the use of provider Super Users, video trainings, and other materials provided by CARS Subject Matter Experts (Service Managers) and Joxel staff.
- Providers – This training is done to train users on service entry and PPS (HSRS) entry to replace functions currently carried out in CMHC. The providers are inclusive of all service lines/levels of care that are not within Access Points or Care Management including Mental Health Outpatient, MHOP, Wiser Choice providers, and our CBRF and SCRIPTS-based providers.
- Administrative/Back Office – The purpose of this training is to teach Administrative/Back Office users tasks such as service entry quality control, batch entry, EOB management, authorization usage, and lapsing report management. The providers are inclusive of all service lines/levels of care that are not within Access Points or Care Management including Mental Health Outpatient, MHOP, Wiser Choice providers, and our CBRF and SCRIPTS-based providers.
