Bulletin #4 (12/29/14)
Avatar Transition Bulletin #4
Monday, December 29, 2014
Agencies have been introduced to the concept of Super Users, or internal champions at each organization who will give guidance and support to their co-workers in the transition to Avatar and ProviderConnect. These Super Users will be prepared as an in-house resource for technical assistance with the new system, as well as a knowledge point on relevant changes to policies and processes. A moderate level of computer proficiency and leadership is recommended for the Super User role, but the decision on whom to designate rests entirely with an agency's leadership; Super Users may be top-level administrators, clinicians, clerical staff, or whomever is up to the task. An agency may have up to two (2) Super Users. Each agency's designated Super Users will be invited to participate in an enhanced orientation prior to the universal Avatar training for all users in January. Subsequent opportunities will be offered to Super Users for further training and updates as needed, utilizing remote communications when possible. Many organizations have already identified their Super Users in response to an e-mail communication sent on December 15. Contact us right away if your organization hasn't yet designated Super Users. Training is just around the corner!
Logins & NPI numbers
Most agencies have also provided their updated lists of current CMHC users (for creation of Avatar login credentials) and NPI numbers. Thank you to those who responded promptly to those requests originally send November 19 (and reiterated on in Bulletin #3)! If your organization has not responded to these requests (or if you're unsure), please contact David Johnson. Application for an NPI number is a simple, straightforward process that begins here.
