The Milwaukee County Jail visitor Reception Desk is located on the lower level of the Criminal Justice Facility Central  949 N 9th Street. The Jail encourages inmates to maintain ties with their families and the community through visits with family, friends, attorneys, and other professionals.

 

New Video Visiting

The Milwaukee County Jail video visiting now allows for both On-Site Free video visits and Off-Site Visits for a fee of $.65 per minute with a $1.00 "service fee".  The account is set up through Pay Pal.

Visitors that would like to visit using the limited free public stations at the Milwaukee County Jail must utilize a two step process; register as a visitor using the Homewav video visiting registration at www.homewav.com. Once a registered visitor with the visiting system, You must also register as a visitor with Renovo Scheduling  to schedule a visit. You only need to register for one time at each site. 

 

On-Site Scheduled Visiting

All on-site family visits will be scheduled visits.  Scheduling of visits will be done using the Internet. Any visit scheduled and the visitor does not show up for the visit will count as a scheduled visit.
 

On-Site Visiting Days  

Visiting Days: TUESDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY

  The first visit begins at 9:00 am.  The last visit of the day ends at 8:20 pm.

  • Visits are 20 minutes per session.
  • Inmates are limited to one visit per week
  • One adult visitor is allowed on each visit
  • Visitors are subject to wanted checks

 

Restrictions  

  •  A visitor must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid picture ID.
  • Visitors shall not wear revealing clothing.
  • Visitors shall not display lewd and lacivious behavior..
  • Visitors shall not have gum, food or drink.
  • Visitors shall not be loud or boisterous.
  • The visiting staff has the right to refuse or disconnect any visit.

 

 

Off-Site Visiting

 

Visitors that only want to visit from the convenience of their home or other personal space may use any computer, laptop, notebook or Smart phone.  The Vendor, has a free app for Android and iPhones. The system is web based and visitors can register and visit by going to www.homewav.com.  Visiting off-site allows family and friends to bring their incarcerated love one with them to family functions, on vacation, as well as in the convenience of your own home.

 

Restrictions

  • Visitors must be clothed. Under clothing ( ie brassiers, underwear, etc.) and swimsuits are not considered clothing.
  • Visitors shall not wear revealing clothing.
  • Buttocks, genitalia, breasts or cleavage shall not be exposed.
  • Visitors shall not display lewd and lacivious behavior..
  • Violation of the rules of conduct will result in the revocation of visiting priveleges for an indeterminate amount of time.
  • Live monitored visits will be disconnected if the restrictions are violated.

 

Off-Site Visiting Hours

  Visiting Days: MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY 

 The first visit begins at 9:00 am.  The last visit of the day ends at 8:20 pm.

All visits are monitored and recorded.

 

Visitors violating any court order will be permanently prohibited from visiting any inmate at the Milwaukee County Jail.
