Dear Community Member,
When I was elected County Executive in 2011, one of my top goals was to stabilize the transit system. I vowed to do everything possible to reverse a decade of cuts and fare increases. I’m proud that during my time in office I’ve been successful; fares have not increased and we’ve added more service.
Thanks to a lot of hard work, the County is now at the point where we can take the next step toward modernizing our transit system, while increasing efficiency, reliability and accountability.
Every day 151,000 people get on a bus in Milwaukee County. Improving our transit system is a top priority for me because I know connecting is crucial to the lives of Milwaukee County residents. A strong transit system is a catalyst for economic, educational and social opportunities, increasing quality of life for residents and supporting our community.
In the coming months and years, I will continue to do everything in my power to modernize our transit system, bringing more value to County residents.
