Homeowners, renters, and businesses who sustained losses and damage during the storms that occured April 13-23, 2026, are now able to apply for Disaster Loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The deadline to apply is August 31, 2026.

Whether you own or rent your home, SBA offers long-term, low-interest disaster loans to repair or replace damaged items. For homeowners, SBA offers funds to cover damages to your primary home and may cover improvements to withstand future damages.

- Homeowners may receive up to $500,000 to cover damages to primary home
- Homeowners and renters may receive up to $100,000 to replace personal property, including vehicles
- Zero interest accrued and zero payments for the first year
- Fixed interest rate and up to a 30-year repayment plan

SBA Milwaukee Business Recovery Center
For in-person support, the U.S. Small Business Administration has opened a Business Recovery Center (BRC) in Milwaukee County. SBA customer service representatives will be available to answer questions about SBA’s disaster loan program, explain the application process, and help individuals complete their application. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can schedule an appointment in advance at appointments.sba.gov.
