The Picnic Season runs May 1 through Oct. 31

Picnics in the Parks are a Milwaukee County tradition. There are literally hundreds of free locations for you to spread out a blanket for your small picnic outing. However, if you will be consuming alcohol, or if you need to be assured there will be picnic tables available, you are required to have a picnic permit.

Reservable Picnic Areas/Permits
For your company picnic or family get-together, ensure that your ideal picnic site will be available by reserving the site with a permit. Prime picnic sites go quickly, so plan ahead. In January, we begin taking your reservations for most sites through Oct. 31 of the following year. For example, On Jan. 2, 2013, we will take your reservation for Oct. 30, 2014.

Moonwalks, Bounce Houses, Inflatable Structures
Inflatable structures are allowed in reserved designated picnic sites when the following conditions are met:

• You must provide a Certificate of Insurance
  $1,000,000 (one million) in general liability insurance should name Milwaukee County Parks as an additional insured party
• You must bring a generator to operate the inflatable structure
• You must use sandbags to secure the structure from movement

Fourth of July Picnics
No reservations are taken for July 4th. On this holiday, picnic sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

By submitting a fee waiver, senior-citizen and non-profit groups may receive a discount for rentals on weekdays, excluding holidays.
