The Milwaukee County Senior Hall of Fame honors five outstanding Milwaukee County seniors who have served the community as volunteers and as advocates on behalf of the elderly.

Supervisor Rice chaired theCode of Ethics Study Committee, a blue ribbon panel which revised, updated, and improved Milwaukee County's Code of Ethics which sets forth ethical standards for both elected officials and employees. The new Codeencourages compliance, sets forth rules and expectations in plain language and improves the methods of ethics enforcement.

Supervisor Rice with the Milwaukee County Senior Statesman Program participants from the Sixth District: Mr. Oscar Kornblum, Ms. Dolores Kornblum, Mr. Robert Krauss, and Ms. Carmen Pangilinan. The Senior Statesman Program provides a unique opportunity for seniors to witness Milwaukee County government in action, meet with members of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors, and learn more about the legislative process in Milwaukee County. Most importantly, the participants get crucial information on how to advocate on behalf of seniors in Milwaukee County.

Supervisor Rice invited the recently appointed Milwaukee Archbishop Jerome Listecki to offer an invocation at the February 2010 meeting of the County Board. The Archbishop accepted the invitation and delivered an inspirational prayer, highlighting the importance of working together and helping those in need.

Supervisor Rice with Emily Feldmesser of Bayside, a Junior from Nicolet Hight School. Each year, the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors and the American Legion host the event to increase student interest in County government and citizenship. During this event, nineteen area high school students join their County Board Supervisors and receive a behind the scenes tour of Milwaukee County government.
