The Watertown Plank Road entrance was permanently closed in 2014. The building is accessible from Discovery Parkway, the north/south road between Watertown Plank Road and Swan Boulevard. Coyote Tag-and-Track Program to Begin in Early February
Trapping and ear-tagging of coyotes that use Milwaukee County parkland in Wauwatosa and West Allis will take place from early February through late March.

Coyote Awareness
There have been reports of some aggressive coyotes in the Wauwatosa area. If you see a coyote, talk loudly and wave your arms to scare it off. Do not leave food sources available, coyotes will lose their instinct to be wary of people if they begin to associate food with a human presence. I-794 Eastbound Exit Ramp to Lincoln Memorial Drive Closed through Fall 2015
As part of the Hoan Bridge project, the exit ramp to Lincoln Memorial Drive will be closed. The LMD southbound entrance ramp to I-794 East (Southbound) will also close during this time.

To sustain and strengthen the legacy of the Milwaukee County Park System, we strive to join the elite one percent—the group of agencies that have earned the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies accreditation.


Menomonee River Parkway
The Parkway will be closed on the segment east of Swan Boulevard to Church Street, including the Charles Hart Parkway. The Oak Leaf Trail will be open to bicyclists and pedestrians. Motorists should follow posted detours. Construction begins the first week of October.

Milwaukee River Parkway Closure
In Lincoln Park

Milwaukee River Parkway will be closed from through Fall 2015. The Parkway will be closed to traffic from Hampton Avenue to Lawn Avenue, with local access to residences south of Lawn. See the map for details

Lake Park Bridge and Ravine Road Closures
Through 2016,  The Lake Park bridge above Ravine Road and Ravine Road will be closed for maintenance.

Forestry Work & Construction:  
Work to improve safety along the OLT will involve intermittent closures of trail segments with minor rerouting.

Detours have been signed for the segment of the OLT between the intersections of East Howard Avenue & South Lake Drive and East Pulaski Avenue and South Sheridan Drive. Please check back for updates.
