Oak Leaf Recreational Trail Milwaukee County's Paved Multi-Use Trail Network Please exercise caution on the trail, especially after heavy rainfall!
Spring-Summer Forestry Work: Forestry work to improve safety along the OLT will involve intermittent closures of trail segments with minor rerouting. Construction: Construction of a new Riverside Park Pedestrian Bridge is scheduled to begin the week of Feb. 27, with a tentative completion by early June 2012. Expect short intermittent closures of the Oak Leaf Trial in Riverside Park just north of the Urban Ecology Center. The GPS coordinates of the affected trail segment are 43° 4'6.71"N and 87°53'29.16"W We apologize for any inconvenience.

You'll be drawn to the pastoral beauty of remote trail segments, and joining you will be bikers, skaters, runners, and walkers leaving the bustle of everyday life behind. The trail features over 100 miles of multiple loops through all the major parkways and parks in the system. Loops are composed of off-road paved trails, park drives, and municipal streets where necessary to ensure continuity.

To better orient you in relation to major city streets, the Parks Department has begun a multi-phase project of marking the trail. The first phase marked the trail along Lincoln Memorial Drive from Ogden Avenue to Locust Street. Additional segments will be marked as funds become available. Street signs also mark the trail for your convenience.
When using the trail, please follow the basic rules of etiquette and safety. Mountain biking is only allowed on the new "Mountain Bike Trails."
