Must be accompanied by an adult.
 

You and your preschooler will join others as a naturalist guides you through special topics, crafts and outdoor activities.

Busy Beaver
NatureNauts will be busy as they discover the secrets of mother nature’s hardest working engineer—the Beaver! Join us as we sing the beaver song, make a craft beaver, and touch a tree that’s been gnawed by a real beaver!

Fantastic Fox
Little pups are invited to trot out and discover how crafty and cool our fox neighbors can be. We will learn how important Fox are and then we'll take a short stroll (weather permitting) to look for Fox signs. NatureNauts will make and take home a fox craft.

Oh, Deer!
The buck stops here for NatureNauts to join us for this “endearing” program. Discover what makes deer beautiful yet sometimes pesky neighbors. Be prepared for a short walk as we go in search of signs of our white-tailed neighbors.

Maple Magic
Come learn about sap, sugar, and syrup from Wisconsin’s State Tree—the Sugar Maple. Children will hear the story of Maggie the Maple Tree and visit the Sugarbush to meet Maggie and give her a hug. After a short walk, everyone will be enjoy a maple syrup treat.

Frog Songs
Hop over and discover why springtime means frogs. Learn the different songs of our local frogs and be prepared for a short walk to the pond. Meet a live frog and toad up close.

Birds at my Feeder
NatureNauts are sure to be “eggcited” for this “eggcellent” program as they “crack up” over animal eggs. Discover how birds, frogs, turtles, and snakes all make eggs, and then you'll make your own eggy craft. Don’t miss it or the “yolk’s” on you!

Flickering Fireflies
Discover the secrets of fireflies and how they light up our summer nights. All NatureNauts will make and take home a craft firefly that lights up!

Beautiful Butterflies
Butterflies are beautiful! Discover which butterflies grace our back yard and learn about their amazing adaptations. Meet and see real butterflies up close.

Beetlemania
Beetles swim, fly and crawl everywhere. They're the most common animal on planet Earth! NatureNauts will meet and touch a bunch o’ beetles and learn what makes these armored insects so special.

Cawing Crows
Come discover the fascinating world of Wisconsin’s smartest bird—the Crow. NatureNauts will discover how to “talk” like a Crow, sing the crow song, and make their own crow craft to take home.

Nocturnal NatureNauts
The sun goes down and animals emerge. Discover which animals are active at night and learn about their special adaptations. Making a special appearance will be several nocturnal animals.

Turkey Tales NatureNauts will delight in dancing the “Turkey Trot” as they discover what makes Turkeys terrific! Everyone will make their own Turkey craft for the holiday.

Star Stories
How were the Stars named? Join us to discover the amazing stories passed down through the ages. Everyone will “blast off” to the stars in Wehr’s own portable planetarium—The Starlab! Make your own craft constellation.
