Mediation Services
Mediation is only available for issues of custody and placement where a family court case exists. Mediation is NOT available on other issues, for example, support or property, if no court case has been filed.
Mediation is started by a court order and can be requested by letter if the final divorce judgment provides for mediation, or if both parties agree to mediation. The letter should be addressed to:
The letter should include the current addresses and telephone numbers for both parties, the court case number and the name(s) and date(s) of birth of the minor child(ren).
There is a $200.00 fee per couple charged for mediation. Mediation does not commence until the fee is paid.
If mediation is ordered, the parties are assigned a mediator who will schedule one or more sessions with them. There is no additional charge for the additional sessions.
