Theodore Lipscomb, Sr. was first elected as Chairman of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors on July 30, 2015. He was unanimously re-elected as County Board Chairman for the 2016-2018 term.
Lipscomb was first elected 1st District Supervisor in a unique write-in election in 2008. He is serving his third term after being re-elected on April 5, 2016. The 1st District includes all of Bayside, Brown Deer, Fox Point, Glendale, River Hills and a portion of the northeast side of Milwaukee.
Prior to becoming Chairman, Lipscomb served as Co-Chair of the Finance, Personnel and Audit Committee and also served on every standing committee of the County Board since he was first elected.
Chairman Lipscomb also serves as one of the Governor's Milwaukee County appointees on the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC) and as a board member of the Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA).
Chairman Lipscomb is a graduate of Marquette University High School in Milwaukee and an honors graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Studies and a Certificate in Urban Planning. His studies include time abroad at Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England and Paris along with independent study and research. He has continued his education with further graduate level studies in real estate finance and law, and has completed various professional certifications.
Chairman Lipscomb brings his many years of experience on housing and economic development issues to the County Board. Outside of his County Board duties, he maintains part-time involvement in real estate, which helps to ensure that he is up-to-date on current events and trends in the industry.
Chairman Lipscomb resides in Glendale with his wife, Nicole, and their three children. They are lifelong residents of Milwaukee County and have lived in the 1st District for more than 30 years.
