Theodore Lipscomb, Sr. was elected Milwaukee County Board Chairman on July 30, 2015.
He was first elected 1st District Supervisor in a very unique write-in election in 2008. He is serving his second four-year term after being re-elected on April 3, 2012. The 1st District includes all of Bayside, Brown Deer, Fox Point, Glendale, River Hills and a portion of the Northeast side of Milwaukee.
Prior to becoming Chairman, Lipscomb served as Co-Chair of the Finance, Personnel and Audit Committee and also served on every standing committee of the County Board at some point over the previous seven years.
He also serves on the board of the Milwaukee Public Library, the Milwaukee County Research Park Corporation and the Wisconsin Counties Association.
Supervisor Lipscomb is a graduate of Marquette University High School in Milwaukee and an honors graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Studies and a Certificate in Urban Planning. His studies include time abroad at Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England and Paris along with independent study and research. He has continued his education with further graduate level studies in real estate finance and law, and has completed various professional certifications.
Supervisor Lipscomb brings his many years of experience on housing and economic development issues to the County Board. Outside of his County Board duties, he maintains part-time involvement in real estate, which helps to ensure that he is up-to-date on current events and trends in the industry.
Supervisor Lipscomb resides in Glendale with his lovely wife, Nicole. They are the proud parents of three wonderful children. Both Supervisor Lipscomb and his wife are lifelong residents of Milwaukee County and have lived in the 1st District for more than 28 years.
