Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center

Located in King Park, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center features a large auditorium, gymnasium, fitness center, meeting rooms, multi-purpose rooms, and a kids' game room.

Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. to  8 p.m.

Saturday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Gymnasium

From September to May, open gym is available for basketball or for walking laps.

Open Gym Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

King Auditorium

Auditorium Rental

Ideal for plays, weddings, talent shows, meetings or presentations. Fixed seating. Sound system and technicians available for an additional fee.

Through partnerships with area organizations, a variety of enrichment and social activities are available at the King Center.

Al Moreland Boxing Club

Butterflyz

Providing programs such as mentoring, tutoring, counseling, cultural enrichment and life skills training. For details, visit the Butterflyz website.

 

Fathers Making Progress

Fathers Making Progress (FMP) helps families by creating spaces of learning, support, and growth for fathers. Fathers grow to become integral parts of their families and communities. For details, visit the FMP website.

 

King Advisory, Inc.

Milwaukee County Child Support Services

Days/Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Services: Cash Kiosk, Case Management, and Process Services.

King Day Celebration

January

Each year, we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with an event of music, dance, spoken work, and more. The presentation is at the King Center auditorium.

Easter Egg Hunt

April

Gather the kids and arrive early -- only a limited number of children can participate! Enjoy egg painting, the egg hunt, and fun for the whole family! 

Independence Day Celebration

July

In partnership with the City of Milwaukee, the King Center offers a day of fun and games, a picnic, and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center Talent Contest. (No fireworks at this location.)

Back to School Festival

August

Families look forward to our annual event that brings the community together with a festival and school-supply giveaways.

Make A Family Smile Turkey Giveaway

In fall, the Center and We Care Crew begin taking donations for the “Make a Family Smile Turkey Giveaway.” Just before Thanksgiving, about 3,000 families receive turkeys purchased through these generous donations.
