Milwaukee County Supervisor Patricia Jursik was elected to the 8th District in a special election in August, 2007 and was re-elected in April, 2008.  She is the Vice Chair of the County Board's Judiciary, Safety and General Services Committee and serves on the County Board’s Parks, Energy and Environment and Health and Human Needs Committees. She serves as chair of the Long Range Strategic Plan Steering Committee as well as the Advisory Committee on Lake Arterial Extension Study

In addition to her elected duties, she is a partner with a limited practice in the Jursik & Jursik Law Offices located in Cudahy, WI where she has practiced for over 30 years.

She holds both Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  She is also a graduate of Marquette University's School of Law, where she was a Callaghan Scholar. Prior to becoming an attorney, Jursik taught grades 4 through 6 in the Milwaukee Public Schools.  During President Reagan's term, Jursik was invited to the White House Conference on Women and Education.  She also served as Chairperson of the Milwaukee Area Technical College Board of Directors from 1981 to 1983.

Supervisor Jursik serves as a trustee on the Milwaukee County Federated Library System and Milwaukee Art Museum Boards. She is a member of the Milwaukee County Aging & Disability Resource Center Governing Board. She served on the Holy Sepulcher Board of Directors, the Southeast Affordable Housing Board and the Catholic Social Services Board.  She is affiliated with the Wisconsin and Milwaukee Bar Associations. In 2002, the Cudahy Chamber of Commerce named Jursik "Business Person of the Year.”

Jursik enjoys many outdoor activities, including bicycling, kayaking, hiking, cross-country skiing, tennis and golf, all of which she does in the wonderful Milwaukee County Parks System.  She also enjoys writing and reading.  Supervisor Jursik and her husband live in Cudahy and have two adult daughters.
