 To obtain Proof of Employment or Income:


You Will Need:

  • The Milwaukee County employer code; which is 13508

  • The employee’s Social Security Number

  • A Permissible Purpose for accessing the information, as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

  • AND Credentialed Access to use The Work Number, Milwaukee County's designated provider of employment and income verifications.

STEP 1.)  Enter your User ID


NoteIf this is your first time accessing

'The Work Number':

  • You will use a default User ID and PIN sequence stablished by your employer.


For Milwaukee County Employees:


 The default ID scheme is:

  • ID Number: Social Security Number (9 digits, no dashes)




 STEP 2.)  Enter your PIN


For Milwaukee County Employees:


 The default PIN scheme is:

  • PIN: Last 4 digits of your Social Security Number & Month & Day of your Birthdate (MMDD)  (8 digits total, no dashes)
