Research birth records from the 1850's to present, death records from 1872 to present and marriage records from the 1830's to present.
Genealogical research hours are 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, or 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Researchers must make an appointment.
Only six research slots are available per day and are scheduled as follows:
- Three people in the morning, and three in the afternoon
For greater accessibility, schedule appointments 2 – 3 weeks in advance.
All researchers must be at least twelve years of age and produce a valid ID.
Minors performing genealogy must be accompanied by an adult.
Customers are charged a verification fee of $7 for each record that is pulled by the Register of Deeds staff for viewing by the customer, as per state statute 69.22 (1) (b). If the customer wishes to obtain a copy of the record (whether certified or non-certified), the charge for that record will be $20, as per state statute 69.22 (1) (b).
