Milwaukee City/County Food Drive

Milwaukee County, in collaboration with the City of Milwaukee, is hosting a food drive to help support residents facing food insecurity due to the loss of federal FoodShare benefits during the ongoing government shutdown.

Local hunger relief organizations NourishMKE and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin will coordinate monetary donations and non-perishable food donations throughout the City and County. Residents can donate to either organization. Either way, you're supporting your neighbors and helping your community.

Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin: Partners with a network of nearly 400 food pantries, meal programs, and shelters across Eastern Wisconsin. Learn more about their Food Programs here.

Hunger Task Force: Provides food to a network of nearly 200 partnering food pantries through their Food Bank. You can find a map of Hunger Task Force's food distribution locations HERE.

  • Mobile Market: Operating as a grocery store on wheels, the Mobile Market provides healthy and affordable food options to families throughout Milwaukee County. The market is an active store, not a food pantry or donation center, that offers 25% off all items beyond Piggly Wiggly’s prices.
  • Senior Stockbox: Provides a box of supplementary food to eligible low-income seniors every month.

Milwaukee County Senior Dining Program: Nutritous, affordable meals for seniors, 60 years and older. There is suggested contribution of $3 for diners 60 and over and a cost of $8 for their guests under 60.

Salvation Army Food Pantries: The Salvation Army operates three food pantries in Milwaukee County: Greenfield, Milwaukee, and Oak Creek.

UMOS Food Pantry: Healthy Food Boxes available to residents living in zip codes 53207 & 53221 every 30 days.

Tricklebee Café: A pay-what-you-can community café with a community-powered fridge run in partnership with One MKE and Metcalfe Park Community Bridges.

FoodShare (SNAP) Situational Update:

Full November FoodShare benefits are now available on all QUEST cards. FoodShare members can check their FoodShare balance by calling QUEST Card Services at 877-415-5164.

A federal court has ordered the Trump Administration to release federal funding for food assistance. This means states can now make full SNAP (FoodShare) payments to families in need. Following the court’s decision, Governor Evers announced that Wisconsin will immediately issue full November FoodShare benefits to all members. FoodShare members will get full benefits instead of partial benefits because of lawsuits brought against the federal government by Wisconsin and other states, municipalities, and nonprofits.
