Service in this area consists primarily of pre-application employment information and counseling. Information and applications for the Disabled Expanded Certification Appointment (DECA) program are available from the office.

Individuals with severe disabilities, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, may be eligible for employment in Civil Service positions in Milwaukee County government through an alternative certification process provided by the DECA program. With current medical and vocational reports, DECA applicants may be placed directly on job certification lists providing qualifications for the job are met. Through the DECA program, appointees serve a 520 hour trial work period prior to the probationary period.
