The County Clerk records the proceedings of the County Board of Supervisors; maintains all of the legislative files and the index of ordinances and resolutions for Milwaukee County; administers oaths of office; maintains the central files for Milwaukee County reports, records, contracts and corporate documents; receives and publicly opens bids; issues marriage licenses and domestic partnership declarations; accepts applications for passports; sells bus tickets and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) licenses and permits; processes garnishment actions, tax levies and wage assignments of County employees; processes lien notices; and registers all lobbyists and lobbying principals and reports to the County Board, County Executive and the public on lobbying activity.
