Description:  The Public Safety building is a six story steel frame structure with a poured in-place concrete pan and joist system, built in 1927.  The exterior wall is constructed of cut limestone panels with masonry back up.  The main objective of the work in Contract 1 is to repair the deteriorated permieter parapet of the main roof by rebuilding the parapet's masonry up.  The intent is to remove and salvage the existing cut stone parapet cap.  Remove and salvage (for re-installation) the existing limestone facade panels at the perimeter parapet.  Remove and dispose of existing deteriorated brick back up at the parapet.  Provide new reinforced concrete masonry units (CMU), as detailed, for parapet back-up and re-install salvaged limestone facade panels. Provide new wood blocking, fully adhered flexible flashing, metal counter-flashing, repair existing built-up roofing, and new metal parapet cap.
