Commission for Persons with Disabilities
The purpose of the Commission is to promote the independence of persons with disabilities and to: remove attitudinal and environmental barriers, promote maximal level of independence with dignity for persons with disabilities, and have primary responsibility for assessing and finding solutions for the needs of Milwaukee County residents with disabilities.

Lead and direct Commission; act on behalf of Commission as necessary.
Monitor use of existing fund dollars; review policy regarding funding of recurring and non-recurring events; consider issue of “mini-grants”.
Promote and monitor improvements in publicly-funded facilities of interest to persons with disabilities.
Review accessibility of election processes, economic support programs, transportation accessibility, Etc.
Oversee development of RFP for services; review and rework, as appropriate, services-provision model; monitor facilities repair, renovation and improvement as part of model.
Public Bike Share Program Special Committee:
Review accessibility within the City of Milwaukee Public Bike Share Program.
