Scurry over to Wehr for all kinds of six-legged fun!

  • Join the Grasshopper Jumping Contest–Enter your grasshopper or borrow one of ours 
  • Enjoy Creepy Crawly Cuisine–Try a protein-rich treat
  • Watch a Bee-Keeping Demonstration–Meet the Keeper of the Colonies
  • Tour the Insect Zoo–Visit with a Walking Stick, listen to a Hissing Cockroach, and be amazed by beautiful beetles. 
  • Relax in Larva Land–(That's "insect talk" for little ones) Let your children explore the world of arthropods at their own pace.
  • Take a course, Dr. Artha Poda's Insects 101– Learn what makes an insect an insect and much more! For ages 6 and up.
  • Dipping for Critters– Get your hands wet as you dip into Mallard Lake to gather some invertebrates from their home


Experts will be on hand to answer your insect questions, such as, "What does damage from an Emerald Ash Borer look like?" 

No registration is needed for this event, so grab the larvae and head out to Wehr!
