2018 Mental Health Board Budget

Mental Health Board Budget Hearings

The Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division (BHD) budget process follows the Milwaukee County budget process, with one addition: BHD’s budget must be approved by the Milwaukee County Mental Health Board (MHB) in July. This means BHD must begin its budget process early each year. The full BHD 2018 budget schedule is outlined below, along with times and locations for each meeting.

To make the process productive and inclusive, the MHB holds at least three budget-only public comment hearings. Only feedback on the budget will be taken during these hearings. We welcome general feedback during other public comment hearings throughout the year.

Tips to help prepare constructive public comment on the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division 2018 Budget:
  • Provide constructive feedback including ideas and solutions.

  • Educate the board on your idea and why you believe it’s important.

  • Familiarize yourself with the BHD budget. Here’s a link to our 2017 budget
